Aquatherm was selected as one of “America’s Most Promising Companies” on Forbes magazine’s exclusive list of only 100 companies nationwide. Making this distinction more impressive is that while Forbes used financial data from 2008 to 2010, Aquatherm’s annual revenue has more than doubled during the 2011 fiscal year.
The Forbes list
Forbes’ list of America’s Most Promising Companies features 100 privately held up-and-comers with compelling business models, strong management teams, notable customers, strategic partners and precious investment capital. “Sizing up younger, privately held companies is hard: Their fortunes can change very quickly and there’s a dearth of public data,” said Forbes executive editor Brett Nelson.
“We took a more comprehensive approach to evaluate their health and potential.” To sharpen its search, Forbes teamed up with CB Insights, a Manhattan-based data firm that tracks investment in high-growth private companies.
With $650,000 in grants from the National Science Foundation, CB has developed complex software called Mosaic that mines myriad online sources (from press releases and social networks to job boards and court filings) to come up with one, algorithmically derived score that measures a private company’s health. Forbes married Mosaic’s data-crunching with old-fashioned reporting to assemble a list of rising stars with bright growth prospects. To view the complete the list, please visit here.
All about education
Ranked 76th overall, Aquatherm – and its burgeoning manufacturer’s representative/ distribution network – are succeeding in conveying the myriad benefits of the pipe to those specifying pipe systems at high profile installations such as high-rises, military bases, schools and universities, hospitals, LEED residences, and more.
“With the numerous advantages Aquatherm offers, our job comes down to educating the market and supporting the product. It’s not a new product – it’s just new to North America and has been proven worldwide for decades,” explained Aquatherm president Steve Clark.
“We’ve experienced tremendous, rapid success in North American and it is fantastic to be recognized, but we certainly are not resting on our laurels. Our product enhances the built environment and our mission of spreading word of Aquatherm’s benefits is just beginning.”
